KerryKerry Hall is a dentist with special interest in Orthodontics and has been practising for many years in this field. She also works within the Orthodontic Dept at Torbay Hospital.

We can help both children and adults by straightening crooked teeth and thereby improving your smile.

After an initial assessment we can advise which type of brace would be best for you or your child including white ceramic brackets and wires.  The braces are then placed and are adjusted every 4-6 weeks.  A lovely, even smile develops over 9-12 months boosting confidence and improving oral health.

There are different ways that teeth can be persuaded to move back into place and they include

Removable appliance: where simple treatment is carried out with a brace that can be removed for cleaning. It has delicate springs and wires attached which move the teeth using gentle pressure.

Fixed appliance: where the teeth need to be guided more accurately than they can be using a removable plate. These have brackets and band temporarily stuck to the teeth. A flexible wire joins all the brackets and allows the teeth to be moved. It is not possible for the patient to take the appliance out.

If you or you children need this treatment Kerry will discuss everything in detail with you and there will be lots of time to ask all the questions that you have.

Below is a guide to costs – and we do offer interest free finance facilities to help spread the cost

Orthodontic assessment – free on NHS for children

Orthodontic assessment – Private adult (inc study models & x-rays) £85.00

Private treatment - from £100.00 per month (usually 12-18 months treatment.)

Retainer Care
A few reminders of how to care for your retainers.

  1. Clean with cold water & toothpaste only - hot water will distort the retainer.
  2. Take your retainer out when eating & swimming. Keep it safe in the box provided.
  3. If you loose your retainer please contact the practice ASAP otherwise your teeth may move. A new retainer will need to be made but unfortunately a charge of £45.00 per retainer will be made by the NH
